This requirement will be procured per Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.213
Special Procedures for Sealed Bidding in construction contracting.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Officer (NCO) 9 intends
to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for a firm-fixed price construction contract for:
Proposed Work:
Provide all labor, materials, equipment, and expert supervision needed to Replace 6-North Patient Room Doors. Replace nine (9) Intensive care Unit (ICU) room doors and hardware and one (1) double corridor door and hardware and door controls in accordance with the project specifications and drawings. Work includes infection
control to level 4 and construction phasing. See attached
Magnitude of construction is $250,000.00 and $500,000.00
Location: Robley Rex VA Medical Center (VAMC), Main Building 800 Zorn Avenue, Building 1, 6th Floor, North, Louisville, KY 40206
Tentative dates for issuing invitations, opening bids, and completing contract performance: The invitation for bids (IFB) is expected to be posted on or around 1/31/2023, with an opening of bids on or around 3/2/2023, and tentative contract completion date on or around 7/31/2023.
Any plans for inspection will be available from the engineering office at the affected site without charge.
All requests for an Invitation for Bid should be submitted no later than 10:00am (central Time), 1/27/2023.
This requirement is anticipated to be 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) concerns under the authority of 38 U.S.C §8127 (d). However, if other small businesses are interested, please respond with a brief capability statement.
No charge is expected for any solicitation documents.
Additional Information:
Only those SDVOSB s listed and viewable in the Small Business Administration s Veterans Small Business database located at https://veterans.certify.sba.gov/ will be considered in the IFB.
All offerors must be actively listed in the System for Award Management (SAM) database- sam.gov.
Although this IFB is anticipated to be set aside for SDVOSBs, this Presolicitation Notice is also to see if any other business (small or large) would be interested in bidding on this project, in the event the Government does not receive sufficient SDVOSB response.
Questions & responses related to this requirement will only be addressed in writing by way of email to the Contract Specialist, Sascha Hertslet, at sascha.hertslet@va.gov. Include the Project number, Project Name and PreSolicitation Number on the subject line. Include in the body, your business size, SAM.gov Unique Entity Identifier, and proper contact information.
